Marie worked as secretary for past Iowa Lieutenant Governor, William Nicholas and past Iowa Secretary of State, Melvin Synhorst, and later worked at Koch Brothers in Des Moines. Marie was known to all who loved her as “Aunt Mimi.” She was an avid reader who never lost the passion for learning. Mimi enjoyed poetry and memorized many poems over the years.
